I trimmed down the window frames in each block, added a narrow black sashing and then sewed all the blocks together. I thought it looked unfinished without a border so I added a border of the busy fabric, because, surprisingly, the solid green as a border made everything look dull. Border width still to be decided.
The quilt top still needs a really good pressing to make sure that all the blocks line up properly. It looks a bit skewed in the photo but that is just a function of my photography abilities(or lack of)- it is actually quite straight. For example, the upper left corner is not actually curved. I am going to follow the philosophy that many quilters use: there are no obvious issues here that would be caught by a viewer galloping by on a horse!!!
It is way bigger than I thought it would be(45 inches by 41 inches)…maybe now a lap quilt instead of a wall quilt….
I am pleased that there is a bit of an attic window perspective happening, although it is not much.
Now to figure out how to quilt it…mostly invisible stitch-in-the-ditch I think since it is way too busy already!

This looks fabulous. My mother-in-law says ” for goodness sake, a blind man would be thrilled to see it!” but I rather like your galloping horses.

Looks wonderful! I love the colours of the fabrics – they have a nice vintage feel to them. And I agree – the attic window perspective is definitely there.
Love the criterion of the galloping horse – must remember that for all my artwork!
