Snap: Bunn’s Creek Park

2016…and time for a new meme from Helena. This year it is “Snap”: between 2 and 4 photos that create a visual set.

A favorite spot of mine to watch for birds and wildlife is a creek(called Bunn’s Creek) that runs quite close to where I live. On Monday I went to check on “my” wood duck and mallard ducklings and found them but also spotted some additional critters.

A female wood duck and 2 ducklings:

Two mallard ducklings:

A dragonfly(a 12 spotted skimmer):

And a muskrat:

Never a dull moment in Bunn’s Creek Park!

  1. lovely markings on teh faces of the wood ducks – what a nature treasure trove you have and looks like you had good sunshine too

  2. What a wonderful setting! I’ve only seen one wood duck in this area, and never a muskrat to my knowledge. I’d be checking this spot out frequently, like you are, if I lived nearby.

  3. What a great place to capture such an interesting SNAP collection. Spotting the muskrat was amazing, only seen a few locally, they seem to be very secretive.
