2016…and time for a new meme from Helena. This year it is “Snap”: between 2 and 4 photos that create a visual set.
I am very fortunate to live just a few minutes from a new neighbourhood that has 3 separate retention ponds…and quite a variety of birds that hang around the ponds.
There is my favorite Canada Geese and goslings swimming in the middle pond:
Hanging about on the opposite side of the largest pond(never close enough to get a good shot even with my 210 mm lens) are some Kildeer:
And again on the opposite side of the largest pond, a Spotted Sandpiper:
Flying over the ponds was this Common Tern:
It takes me forever to identify the birds..and I hope I am correct!

a great collection of birds you have – love the tern in flight

I think your bird SNAP is wonderful. The one of the Canadian Goose & her goslings is perfect with her staring right at you. We get a lot of Kildeer in the field behind us – to me their cry is so plaintive & sad, it borders on frantic.

Adorable Canadian geese. I have a website I always go to for our birds, native or introduced to check out. But it is not always easy. Lovely shots
