One Four Challenge for November week 4- Oak Hammock Marsh

Another month for the One Four Challenge which you can read about it, and join it here. This challenge is about processing 1 image in 4 different ways over 4 weeks.

And another photo from Oak Hammock Marsh!! There were just a few hikers on the many walking trails and these 2 passed us while I was photographing some cat-tails and assorted details in the marsh. The colour is a bit washed out but overall I like the photo..with the tall grasses on the left and the curved path on the right…..and the vast marsh in the background.

Yikes..for this week I played for hours and couldn’t get anything I liked at all…in desperation I started layering versions on top of each other and eventually came up with this version….the superimposed layers were out of kilter and the photo became quite abstract and highly cropped. There are bits of edits from iColorama, Effexy, Topaz Impressions(Turner Sunset) and assorted LR presets. All layered on top of each other with various blend modes and opacities in PSE:

Sort-of an echo of a mysterious figure in a prairie field!

  1. I like the painted effect of the grasses and sky, not so much of the girl – the second week pencil sketch was outstanding tho 🙂

  2. This is prety cool, it’s sort of like a painting with all the textures, and the barely there hiker gives it an interesting abstractness. I think my favorite is the sketch, I seem to gravitate to things that look like drawings. 🙂
