Pairs: Fast and Slow

I bought myself a new lighter mirror-less camera last week…because dragging around my heavy DSLR was giving me constant back pain. Of course I have been playing with all the settings trying to get familiar with it.

So, while downtown the other day, I tried photographing the water sculpture that stands behind our main library…using 2 different shutter speeds.

Fast: 1/250 second resulted in freezing the water droplets in time:

Slow: 1/8 sec lead to blurred water streams:

Pretty cool difference between the 2 photos! If you click on the photos to enlarge them you can really see the difference.

  1. That is a pairing we haven’t had so far. Interestingly I have been experimenting with water and different shutter speeds too. Not sure when and how I will blog it yet. Great pictures.
