I am playing with Prairie Jill(http://prairiejill.blogspot.ca/)and Miriam(http://miriamrogers.co.uk/). We are working our way through Steve Sonheim’s photography book(Creative-Photography-Lab-Self-Expression-Mixed-Media), lab by lab.
This week’s lab is supposed to be a mixed media lab with textures….but I have only gotten as far as the textures part. I am taking advantage of all the “wonderful” snow we have, and took a series of different snow textures:
they are as follows(clockwise from upper left):
1 boot track 2 troughs dug by Stewie 3 salted and sanded snow pile in parking lot
4 tire tracks(I like this one so much I want to make a stencil or thermofax screen from it) 5 mini snow drifts 6 bunny tracks
7 an ice sculpture 8 alien tracks 9 snow dunes that remind me of sand dunes 10 glistening snow- this was enhanced by HDR processing.
Lesson learned so far…it is really hard to take pictures of snow…..and auto-enhance in PSE doesn’t work well at all.
I love all these different textures ~ wonderful!

Great textures! I love all the tracks you’re finding – especially the alien ones! (I thought of you today as I watched a squirrel running through the snow, leaving its tracks behind!) I also really love the sparkly one in the middle.
